I've gone a little beach crazy recently, so when I saw the adorable beach cuts on my new favorite cartridge (A Child's Year, which was given to me by Provo Craft - thank you!!), I just knew that I had to do this layout - and use my very favorite Stampin' Up! papers to go along with it. I plan to add some pics to the mats soon. The family pics we took in Florida on the beach should work perfectly.
But really, I cannot say enough great things about this cartridge. It's beautiful, and I'm seriously tempted to make an entire album from just this cartridge - how fun would that be?!?!?
By the way, most of the silhouette kids in this layout were cut at 4 1/2", but the sitting child was 3 1/2 to keep her proportionate to the others. The umbrella was cut at 5 1/2", and the starfish are 1" and 1 1/2". I jumped around a bit with the font size, but the letters range from 1 1/4" to 2". And when you get your hands on this cartridge, here's a little tip for you. In the booklet, the letters of the font are not arranged in alphabetical order, so that can be a bit confusing at first. But if you flip toward the back of the booklet to where it shows what the entire keypad looks like with the Font feature on, you'll notice that the letters are actually placed in a Qwerty keyboard arrangement. So it's best to refer to that picture when you're trying to type out a word.
Have a wonderful weekend, and a Happy 4th of July!!

Wow I really like this layout, I wasn't too impressed with the look of the cart as all the cuts seem to be silouette but you have just changed my mind.

Absolutely gorgeous! We just got this cart today at Atlanta Expo!! Can't wait to use it! Question: Since there is no shadow feature, how did you do the shadowing of the cuts. It appears that they are indeed shadowed, as opposed to just cut at the same size and shifted, as you did on the letters. How'd you do that? Thanks! CathyB

Monique Griffith said...

CathyB - there actually IS a Shadow feature for the silhouette children cuts, so yes, that's what I used. There's just not a Shadow feature for the alphabet font or for some of the other extras. Hope that helps!
