Life's a beach. Really. Actually, that's the cartridge I used on this layout. Gotta LOVE this cart - it's got so many fantastic beach images on it, and I'm so thrilled that I finally got it as I was ready to scrap these beach pictures from our Disney Cruise in October '07. Patterned papers are from Michael's, and the solids are from Stampin' Up! I Cuttlebugged the solid squares for added dimension, and of course used my trusty Uniball Signo white gel pen all over the place. Thanks for looking, and have a beachy day!

Storybook is one of my very favorite Cricut cartridges - especially after finishing this project! I have had this design in my head for such a long time, and am soooo excited to finally have it completed. You're just seeing about half of the pictures - there are a few more fun details to dream about. I will be teaching this as a class a few times, including April 22nd in Elk Grove, and April 29th at my home in Rocklin. I also plan to add a date in mid-May. If you're in this area, and wish to attend, you can email me or PM me through the Cricut messageboard. Or if you don't have my email, leave a comment with your email address, and I'll get in touch with you. The cost for the class is $25, which includes your materials. You just bring your bug, Storybook cartridge, and a few other tools. It's a very involved class, as you can probably tell, and I expect it to take 3-4 hours to complete. Sweet Dreams!

Here's my latest design for an upcoming Cricut class. The class will be held April 9th here at my home. It requires Accent Essentials, and preferably the Expression machine. The title was created with Plantin' Schoolbook. This layout would be perfect for family pictures, or some old heritage photos, or even pics of the kids or critters.

Why pay Pottery Barn prices for wall decor when you've got a Cricut??? I already had the bedding and curtains, but needed some accent pieces for Emily's walls. So I got some canvases from JoAnn's, painted them white, and added an irridesent sheen to them. Then used Design Studio and mostly the Walk in My Garden cartridge to design some funky flowers that would coordinate with the bedding. A couple of the small flowers are hand-cut, and the large tulip was pieced together on DS. Each of these canvases measure 12" x 24". I then used Storybook to create Emily's name on 5" x 5" canvases. I like Storybook because it's so fun and dreamy. Plus the added layers really give it character. Mod Podge was used to adhere all of the layers to the canvas, plus on top of the finished product. I added pics of the overall room so you can see how it all coordinates. Eventually I'll be adding some butterfly canvases as well. This was such a fun and rewarding project!

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray." I've sung that to Emily countless times. Now here's my newest layout for an upcoming class that expresses how joyful and sunny a special little someone can make us all feel. It uses the Mickey & Friends cartridge as well as Mickey Font, and requires an Expression machine for a couple of the larger cuts. Keep an eye out for dates and times as I'll be releasing my Spring/Summer schedule very soon. Now go enjoy some sunshine!

Butterfly house pics are finally here!! It's been a crazy couple of months, but our house is finished, and we moved in about 10 days ago - with lots of help from our amazing friends. So here are just a few pics that still show some chaos since we still have lots of settling to do. The first pic is of the house on Christmas day, a month before we moved in, but it shows the completed front. Next, we have the fam - Lucy, Emily, Brent, Jared, me and Susan - about 15 minutes after we got the keys. And now we're finally getting our kitchen settled, so I can show it off a little, along with the wet bar. Can you say margarita station??? Miss Emily shows off a bit of the living room, but is far more interested in modeling her new leopard dress. Work it. There's a few more pics in the post below. It'll probably take us a few more weeks to get everything together the way we want it, but we're all just completely thrilled with the house - it's definitely a dream come true for us!!!

Butterfly House pics. The room with the china hutch will soon be our scrap room. Emily hugging the walls on our first morning there. And a couple of pics of her bedroom after I painted it to match her bedding. Plus the bathroom she shares with Lucy.
