Welcome to my newly designed blog! Hope you like it! And today just happens to be the very last day of my treatment for Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Over the past 7 months, I have gone through chemo, double mastectomy and twice-daily radiation. It's hard to believe that I am reaching the treatment "finish line" today, and can finally move on with my life and what I love to do - design with my Cricut!

Here is a video that my friend Stephanie made to celebrate this day! Thanks, Steph!

Keep checking back. We have so much in store for you on this blog! And don't forget the live UStream video HERE on Friday night at 6pm PST (9pm EST). There will be lots of prizes, and at least one of them will be chosen from the comments you leave on this blog post.

What a beautiful and moving tribute slide show! While I've seen most of these photos over the past 7 months, it still amazes me to see that you had a beautiful smile on your face throughout your entire journey. Your daughter, as well as the rest of us, is so lucky to have you as a role model for what a strong determined woman is.
I look forward to visiting this blog frequently, to continue to be inspired by your amazing designs, which will hopefully inspire me to kick my scrapbooking skills up a notch.
And now...I'm on my way to my annual mammogram :).
You should have seen the look on my 14 year old daughter's face when I explained what that was and how it's done!

So happy you are reaching the end of this journey. I remember my last treatment was meant with mixed feelings, while I was so happy it was over, I was scared to know that nothing else was being done, that now I had to walk this journey alone. Instead of this negative feeling I joined the Canadian Cancer Society and became a peer counselor, that was truly rewarding, and I stopped feeling I was walking alone.
Well done, cherish this day.

That is such a great thing! All I have left to say now is....You go Girl! Keep up the wonderful work! You are a blessing to all that know you and know of your journey! God bless!

I am so happy for you Monique, Great video brought me to tears. My Husband and rock is currently fighting Malignant Teratoma,A form of testicle cancer. He has had 3 surgeries so far the last being removal of a wedge in his lung, so far so good next body scan will be a big one for us as we are thinking positive that it will be gone. The only cure is removal they said so chemo would only slow it down from our understanding and radiation was not an option.I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hope to tune in for u-stream if I can remember,

Blessings to you and all others who are going through the trials of such a nasty disease. My grandmother as well as my sister both had breast cancer, and both survived it. I congratulate you on your long journey and cannot think of a a better way to celebrate than having a party. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join the live event (drats) as I am already committed to other things for tonight.

As a new Cricut user ( almost a week now), I enjoy events such as this. I have spent the last few weeks looking through blogs and other information to inspire me. And I have found that here, all the information on your blog has been very helpful and informative. You are such an inspiration to the rest of us. Gods speed in the rest of your life - you have beat the odds.

Is there a breast cancer awareness cartridge? I would love to have this to create cards of encouragement for friends i know going through the same thing.

The slide show is so touching. I think it should go "viral" or whatever it's called---for more people to see it. I'm so amazed that you did all you did while going through the treatments, pain and suffering and add in the hand issue! It's as if you never said "I Can't". You have blessed so many by sharing your journey.

What a wonderful video montage. It brought tears to my eyes. I am an ovarian cancer survivor. When I was diagnosed in 2000, the best long term scenario was 3 years. Then they (whoever that is) increased it to 5 years. It is now 2011 and I'm still here! God wasn't ready for me yet. Thank you for sharing your story.

Deanna said...

Wow! I just watched the video, and being a new follower had no idea about the person behind the "pretty, cool stuff" I was admiring. I was sobbing, to be sure. (I lost my mother and MIL both to cancer.) Great job kicking cancer to the curb! Great slideshow. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Monique! In watching this video I realized that cancer never stopped you. You know that I have followed this journey with you. I thought in reading the many daily pages of your journal I had gotte the essence of you. I did not! In this video I saw a woman having fun, making friends, and very much on the go. Others with cancer stay home and allow themselves to be sick. You did not! If I didn't know better I would say cancer saw the blood of the lamb on your door and passed you by. You are incredible! Love ya!
